CHARLOTTE KIDS TOGETHER

I am so excited to launch this blog! There have been so many moments leading me to create this site. My hope for this blog is to help fellow families find avenues in our community where kids and families can learn to give back, help others, feel gratitude, and deepen their understanding of other cultures and ways of life right in our backyard.  

 

Volunteering is something that has always been in my heart.  I have tried to introduce this love of giving back to my kids--with some successes and some failures.  At different stages of life, we have given in different ways.  When my kids were babies, we were lucky if we followed through with even small giving projects.  As they grew, I introduced more meaningful ways of helping through spontaneous giving as well as through ongoing commitments.  Currently, our struggle is finding a time where we are not crisscrossing Charlotte from one activity to the next.  

 

So, I come to you as a fellow parent who wants her children to reach out beyond themselves, to understand the needs in our own community, and to develop an empathetic and giving heart.  I am also coming to you as someone who understands we are barely fitting everything into our busy lives.  There are so many organizations doing such amazing work in our community. My goal is to highlight these organizations and share how we can get our kids involved--big and small.
